Making A Purchase Making a purchase could not be easier. Just browse our store, and add any items that you wish to buy into the shopping cart. After you have finished your selection, click on 'Checkout' and you will be asked for a few details that we need to be able to complete the order.

We accept all major credit/debit cards and PayPal except American Express. Please select the Credit/Debit Card option if you wish to pay by card. You will then be forwarded to a secure checkout operated by Elavon. If you choose to pay by PayPal, you will be forwarded to their secure checkout web site.

If you do not wish to pay online, you may call us and pay over the phone by credit or debit card.

If you have made a mistake in your order and cannot correct it in the shopping cart, contact us and we will correct the mistake.

When confirmation of your order is received, this is to indicate that we have received your order. It does not indicate that a contract exists between us. We will indicate acceptance of your order, and hence a contract between us, when we send you an invoice. We have included this term to protect us in the case that a mistake has been made in pricing, we have inadvertently under-priced goods, or we are no longer able to supply a particular product for some reason. In the case of a change of price, we will always contact you first to ensure that the price is acceptable.

All sizes are approximate and although we endeavour to make the website accurate the design may vary slightly from that shown. We are constantly upgrading our stock so we reserve the right to alter designs when neccessary.
Shipping And Handling All small items are sent via parcel delivery unless requested otherwise.

Large items are sent through a courier company

Most poultry houses are delivered personally on the UK mainland. The cost of the delivery for the poultry houses also includes erection.
Delivery Schedule
Most of our orders are sent by UKMail Parcels, except very large items which are sent by courier.

We will normally dispatch your order to you in 2-3 business days and you will receive it within 7 business days.
International orders are generally dispatched within 5 buisness days and you will receive it within 30 days.
Delivery and on site assembly of large poultry houses is usually within two to three weeks of placing your order.

This is providing the products are in stock.

You agree that you will inform us within two working days if the goods are lost or damaged in transit so that we can make a prompt claim against the delivery company and correct the problem. Please quote your order number and postcode in all correspondence. A photograph always helps us make a prompt claim against the delivery company.

You agree that proof of delivery supplied by our delivery company is sufficient evidence to establish that goods have been received.
Back Orders If your item is not in stock, we will back order for you. Please contact us if you do not wish to wait.
Tax Charges For orders made from the UK or the European Union 20% VAT is added. All other orders are VAT free.
Credit Card Security You will only be asked to enter credit or debit card details while you are on our secure checkout page operated by Elavon. Elavon are Europes leading merchant service provider providing secure card processing for thousands of UK companies. Credit card numbers are encrypted using 128 bit encryption. They are only decrypted after they reach Elavon's merchant bank computer. They are not held in clear text on any web site or on our computer.

Product photographs are provided as a guide. The items we supply you might not be exactly as they appear in the photographs. This is for many reasons such as manufaturers continuous improvement of their products. Please read the descriptions carefully.

In the case of live birds, we pride ourselves on breeding healthy birds in a free range environment. We warrant that they are healthy and free from disease at the time you collect them. We are happy for you to inspect each bird individually before you make a purchase. You agree to keep birds you have purchased from us isolated from other birds for 14 days from purchase. In the unlikely event that you are not happy with the birds you have purchased from us, you agree to let us know as soon as you spot something you are not happy about. If we agree it is a pre existing condition and you can demonstate they have been kept isolated from other birds, then you may return them to us within 14 days of purchase for a full refund (or replacement birds if you would prefer). You understand and agree that we will never cover or contribute to your vets bills, under any circumstances. Please retain the sales order as proof of purchase.

Privacy Policy The Domestic Fowl Trust do not disclose buyers' information to third parties other than when order details are processed as part of the order fulfilment. In this case, it is necessary for us to pass your name and delivery address to a third party such as a courier firm or Royal Mail. We have to do this, or we cannot deliver your goods. We will also supply your phone to them in case their driver has difficulty locating your delivery address. The buyers' information you supply us will be kept on our secure computer for up to 7 years to ensure we can deal efficiently with you for example when dealing with warrantee claims or when you wish to reorder a product you have purchased before or a replacement part for a poultry house. This information will never be shared with third parties.

If you purchase live birds or hatching eggs from us, we are required by law to keep a record of this transaction for at least 12 months. This will include your name and address together with the destination address plus details of the birds or eggs you purchased. This record will be kept both on paper and on our secure computer. We are obliged to share this information with government agencies such as DEFRA or their authorised bodies such as APHA whenever they should request it.

Cookies are used on this shopping site to keep track of the contents of your shopping cart, to store delivery addresses if the address book is used and to store your details if you select the 'Remember Me' Option. They are also used after you have logged on as part of that process. You can turn off cookies within your browser by going to 'Tools | Internet Options | Privacy' (in Internet Explorer) and selecting to block cookies. If you turn off cookies, you will be unable to place orders or benefit from the other features that use cookies. Data collected by this site is used to:
a. Take and fulfil customer orders.
b. Administer and enhance the site and service.
c. Only disclose information to third-parties for goods delivery purposes.
Returns Policy Your rights to return goods are protected under the EU Distance Selling Directive.

You are entitled to cancel your order and return the goods within 7 working days for a full refund, including the cost of delivery. Do this by contacting us by email or telephone and quoting the order number supplied to you. Your refund will be paid within 30 days. You are responsible for the cost and risk of loss or damage when returning the goods, so you should take out enough postal insurance to cover their value. This cancellation policy does not affect your rights when we are at fault - for example, if goods are faulty or misdescribed.

Any goods returned should be in saleable condition.

These terms apply to your order. We may change our terms and conditions at any time, so please do not assume that the same terms will apply in the future.

None of these terms affect your legal rights and these are not diminished in any way. If any term is held to be invalid under any applicable statute or rule of law, that term is automatically omitted from the terms to minimum extent necessary to comply with the law and without affecting the validity or enforceability of the remainder.

Please note there is no minimum order value when purchasing from our online store, if you would like just one pack of legrings, that's fine with us. However, or couriers do impose a minimum charge.
